Samsung brings One UI 8 beta 2 to the Galaxy S25.

The second beta of One UI 8 (software based on Android 16) is now available for the Galaxy S25 series (S25, S25+, S25 Ultra).

The update was released on June 12, 2025 - with build ZYF3 and a size of about 1.2 GB - and is accompanied by the June 2025 security update.

What's new in One UI 8 Beta 2

  • You think just updates? No - it has a good dose of improvements:
  • New feature for feedback to the interpreter to improve its performance
  • Fixes major bugs: widget display, text alignment in "Now Brief", problems with fingerprint unlock, Bluetooth, notifications, Air Command (when S Pen is removed), alarms, and more.
  • Predictable gesture "Back Swipe Preview"
  • Activated by Labs in Advanced Features.
  • Shows a preview of the previous screen when you swipe back - but currently only works within Settings
  • Present in many markets

Already available in: South Korea, Germany, Germany, Poland, UK, USA - and expanding to India & Poland on 20th June.

Next steps

  • One UI 8 Beta 3: it is speculated that it will bring back full Predictive Back Gesture in more applications, after the ZYF5 build passes internal testing.
  • One UI 8 fixed version: expected this summer season of 2025, along with the official launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Flip 7, with AI-enhanced features, multitasking, Auracast, redesigned apps, etc.

How to get into Beta 2

  1. Open the Samsung Members app.
  2. Find the "One UI 8 Beta Program" and sign up.
  3. Go to Settingssoftware updateDownload and install to download the update.

    • Available: 12 June 2025 (build ZYF3, ~1.2 GB).
    • Main changes: many bug fixes, improved stability, June 2025 patch, new feedback interpreter.
    • Gesture Preview only shows in Settings (unless it is completely displaced with Beta 3).
