One UI 8 brings a new version of the Audio Eraser tool that can now "erase" noise in real time, without having to go into the editing screen. All it takes is a tap on the Audio Eraser icon within Gallery (or Samsung Notes/Voice Recorder) and the Galaxy AI algorithm instantly removes unwanted buzz, road noise or air conditioner hum from your video.

How it differs from the previous generation
- Direct activation: no extra window opens; the clean version plays live as you view the clip.
- Multi-app support: in addition to Gallery, Audio Eraser now also works in Samsung Notes & Voice Recorder, so you can erase recordings or voice notes with one tap.
- Lower delay: the algorithm runs exclusively on-device, so latency is minimal and no cloud connection is required.
Availability & devices
- Beta: The feature is already being tested in the third beta of One UI 8 (Android 16) for Galaxy S25 owners in selected countries.
- Final version: It's expected to be officially unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked on July 9 (along with the Galaxy Z Fold 7/Flip 7) and released in phases in the fall.
Possible extension: Sources say that the live version will come not only to the S25, but also to older flagships and upcoming foldables, as long as they are upgraded to One UI 8.

Practical instructions for use (beta)
- Gallery ➜ Play a video ➜ Press the new Audio Eraser button at the bottom right.
- Voice Recorder / Notes ➜ Record ➜ Tap the Galaxy AI button and select "Remove noise".
- You can turn off the effect at any time to compare "before/after".
Because the model works on-device, battery consumption is slightly increased when the effect is running continuously. If you're watching long videos, go for Wi-Fi or charging.
What to expect in the future
- Better voice recognition: Samsung is testing more "smart" profiles that will pick out speech and leave only your voice.
- Auracast & multiple outputs: combined with the new Bluetooth Auracast, you'll be able to share "clean" audio to multiple headsets at the same time.
In short, One UI 8 makes Audio Eraser faster, simpler and more ubiquitous, transforming noise removal from an "edit mode" to a live filter for video and audio recordings. If you have a device that will receive One UI 8 beta, it's worth a try; otherwise, keep a note for official release later in 2025.
