iOS 18.5: When will the new update be available on iPhone?

The iOS 18.5 update is expected to be released to the public in mid-May 2025.

Although Apple has not announced an official date, the historical trend shows that iOS versions are usually released between 13 and 20 May.

For example, iOS 17.5 was released on May 13, 2024, while iOS 16.5 was released on May 18, 2023.Therefore, it is likely that iOS 18.5 will be available in the week starting May 12.

So far, three beta versions of iOS 18.5 have been released, with the most recent being available on April 21, 2025. The update focuses mainly on bug fixes and performance improvements, with no major new features.

However, there are minor changes to the Mail app, such as the ability to disable the display of contact photos directly from within the app, and the addition of the "All Messages" view as a separate tab.
In addition, there are reports that Apple may incorporate improvements to artificial intelligence, such as a revamped version of Siri, either with the release of iOS 18.5 or shortly thereafter with iOS 18.6.
After the release of iOS 18.5, the test phase of iOS 18.6 is expected to begin, while the first beta of iOS 19 will be unveiled at WWDC 2025, which starts on June 9.
