With iOS 18, Apple is bringing a major upgrade to the Phone App, leveraging Apple Intelligence to add features that will enhance the user experience.

Here are the five main new features:

  1. Phone Call Recording (Apple Intelligence)

With iOS 18, you can record phone calls, which wasn't previously available on iPhones. During a call, you can tap the record button to start recording, which is automatically saved in the Notes app. All participants are notified that the call is being recorded via an audio message. This feature will be available in a later update to iOS 18.

  1. Phone Call Transcription and Summary (Apple Intelligence)

Recorded calls are automatically transcribed in the Notes app, allowing you to see a full transcript of the call content. You can use the Summary button to view a summary of the call or search for specific keywords. These transcripts can also be saved or shared.

  1. Search in Call History

The new search feature allows you to easily find incoming, outgoing and missed calls or voice messages. You can search for a phone number, name, date or other parameters to find the information you need.

  1. Change SIM Card

For users with two SIM cards, iOS 18 offers a simpler way to swap your numbers directly from Control Center. This feature makes it easier to manage business and personal calls without having to open the settings.

  1. Contact Suggestions and Call T9

As you type a number, iOS 18 suggests contacts you can call. Plus, T9 dialing lets you type names instead of numbers using the T9 predictive system, making it even faster to search for contacts.

These features bring new and practical functionality to the Phone App, harnessing the power of Apple Intelligence to deliver a more complete user experience.
