The new Nike app that measures your... foot with amazing accuracy

The system that the global shoe industry has sold you on the right size to buy has probably done you a disservice, as research has shown that 5 out of 10 times you buy the wrong size.

Now, Nike is rolling out a new app called Fit AR Foot Scanner, which, according to the company, shows you exactly what size shoe you're wearing by scanning your foot.

With this process, the phone's camera sends 13 pieces of data to the app, which then produces detailed results for the "map" of your foot.

By having your full foot size, you can save the data in your NikePlus members-only profile, so you won't have to do the same process in a short time.

Of course, if you want to shop for your family or friends, you can use the guest profile.

The app will be available next July.
