"Old" The iPhone and it's holding you up? Speed it up with these ten tricks.
One of the great things about iPhone is the great operating experience it offers. And, as we all know, the iPhone usually outperforms the competition, but, like any device, it starts to slow down over the years. And the annual upgrades of new versions of iOS can make it slow down even more. And it can get frustrating when our once speedy iPhone starts to drag, but that's something that will eventually happen. But don't despair. There are some methods and tricks to lighten its load and make it speed up to a significant extent. For that, read on or watch the video:
1. Restart
It may sound simple and cliché, but the reason why you will so often hear such advice is no coincidence. Rebooting devices, many times has solved problems with delays, hangs, etc. The fact that we usually leave it permanently on iPhone is a cause that over time we may see it begin to lag. A reboot, will clear memory, clear app cashes, reset various functions by unlocking them and generally helps the iPhone get a "fresh start". So, remember every now and then to do a reboot - it always does good.

2. Turn off slides and motion effects
The visual effects are certainly very nice, but they add an editing burden. You can speed up your device quite a bit by reducing them or even turning them off completely. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility > Increase contrast and press the button Reducing Transparency. In the Accessibility menu you can also turn off the motion effects by tapping Motion Reduction.
3. Uninstalling applications
Installing applications that fill the device's storage space is another reason for delays. Re-check your apps and uninstall the ones you don't use. This will free up resources on your device so it can "breathe" and save background upgrades made for apps you don't use.
4. Turn off Siri
Siri can be very handy (although without Greek most people probably don't use it), so turning off its functions won't be missed and will free up resources by lightening the device's processor. So, go to the Settings > General > Spotlight Search > Siri Suggestions and turn it off. You can also go to the Siri menu in Settings to turn off "Hey Siri" or Siri itself altogether.

5. Turn off automatic updates
If you go to Settings > iTunes and app store, you will find an option called, Automatic updates. If the iPhone is the only iOS device you have in your Apple account, then you can leave it active. But if you have other iOS devices and you don't want the applications that are downloaded on them to be downloaded on iPhone (and load and slow it down), then disable this option. Also, in case you want it active, turn off the Use mobile network option in the same menu.
6. Use native apps
And here we mean, you use the pre-installed applications that came with the iPhone Your. It may seem bad, especially if you've replaced them with others that suit you better, but the truth is, the apps of the Apple work best with the iPhone. They may not be the best compared to others that are available in the App Store for the same tasks, but they are certainly the best and fastest for the iPhone itself, as they use the hardware of the device properly without overloading it. Moreover, they cannot be uninstalled, so if you use others for the same tasks, you are taking up extra valuable space on your device.
7. Disable background application refreshing
Some applications continue to run in the background, synchronizing their data and updating their content whether we want them to or not. In this way, not only can they slow down our device, but they also reduce our battery life. Go to the menu Settings > General > Refresh applications in the background and press the button to turn the function off. This way, apps will only sync when you bring them to the foreground. You can also turn the feature on only for specific apps if you want and keep it off for all others.
8. Clearing old files
As long as the files on your iPhone have been copied to your computer or to your iCloud, you can erase them from the device so that they do not take up valuable space. Especially if you have videos, audio files and photos that do not need to be on the device, it is better to delete them so that they do not consume resources. Go to Settings > General > Space and use iCloud > Storage space management to see what takes up the most space and generally how the storage space of your device is distributed and act accordingly.

9. Clearing the browser history
A place where you can really get rid of junk files that accumulate while browsing the Web with the Safari are in Settings > Safari > Clear history and data. At the beginning your navigation will slow down a bit in the Internetbut soon it will come back and you will have cleared the iPhone from a lot of junk. It is good to repeat this from time to time.
10. Reset iPhone
This is one last measure you may need to take, especially if you are experiencing other problems with dysfunctions and adhesions. First, start by resetting your iPhone's settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset > Reset settings). You will need to go back through the network settings, passwords, etc., but your data will remain intact. If you're not satisfied, you can now proceed with a factory reset of your iPhone after you've kept a backup of your data.
