Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, who is considered a reliable and qualified analyst in the field of technology, reports that Apple is preparing new MacBook Air models with M3 chips in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes and is expected to launch in 2024.

The current 13-inch MacBook Air was announced in June 2022 and the newest 15-inch model was recently introduced. Both models use the M2 chip, which is manufactured using TSMC's 5nm process.

As for the M3 chip, according to Mark Gurman, it is expected to be built with TSMC's more advanced 3nm process. This is expected to provide significant improvements in performance and power efficiency compared to the M2 chip. Gurman did not provide detailed information on the number of CPU and GPU cores that the M3 chip will feature, but says it is expected to be similar to that of the M2 chip.

One of the key differences between the 15-inch MacBook Air and the 13-inch model is the larger screen of the 15-inch MacBook Air compared to the 13-inch model. In addition, the MacBook Air 15-inch has six speakers instead of four, potentially offering better sound quality.

Note that Apple says the two models have equal battery life, presumably due to equivalent performance and optimization in power consumption between them. You also mention that they share the same overall design, suggesting a similar aesthetic and design for the two models.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, in addition to MacBook Air, Apple is also preparing new iMac and MacBook Pro 13-inch models with the M3 chip. It is expected that the new iMac will be released early next year and will retain a similar design to the current model released in 2020 that uses the M1 chip.
