iPHONE SE: What does Apple's new offering have to offer?

Even before the 4.7 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were announced, rumors had begun to circulate about the introduction of a third 4-inch device. This device would be aimed at users who wanted a more affordable and smaller iPhone device.

The rumours then were not confirmed, and not even in September 2015. This year, however, the release of a 4-inch iPhone is closer than ever, and it is even speculated that it will be unveiled in the current month.

On the one hand, for several months now, rumours have been flying around the world about a new iPhone and on the other hand we have Apple for months now planning how this device will be equipped. With the components that will make up the upcoming iPhone device having entered mass production, we will soon have a clearer picture of what to expect.

The name was mentioned by several people iPhone 5se or simply iPhone SE, implying its place in the market as a successor to the iPhone 5s. If we take into account rumors we read from time to time, the 4-inch device seemed to follow the design line of the iPhone 5c, leading the tech world to expect a similar proposal as the iPhone 6c.

It was soon found that this is not going to happen and the nomenclature iPhone 5se or iPhone SE prevailed. Apple.

Rumours suggest that the new device will be similar in size and design to the iPhone 5s. Except for the screen, which is expected to have curved edges but not so much that it will resemble an iPhone 6s in design.

Putting all existing rumours to rest, the new iPhone SE may be similar to Apple's larger devices, but they won't share the same hardware features. It is possible that the new device will be equipped with an A9 processor, which is hosted in the iPhone 6s devices, but will come with a limited amount of 1 GB RAM.

The storage space versions are rumored to 16 GB and 64 GB. while the 128 GB storage will not be available.

Among the features of the newly-arrived device, you can include a rear camera of 12 megapixels similar to the iPhone 6s. The camera offers improved autofocus, greater panorama photography, and Live Photos capability. The display technology 3D touch will eventually remain only on the larger iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus versions.

Like all of the company's latest iOS devices, it will include an NFC chip and Touch ID fingerprint sensor to support Apple Pay. The new device will also be equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 technology, 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity and of course VoLTE. It may also carry a slightly larger battery than the iPhone 5s, at 1624 mAh.

The colours in which the new iPhone SE will be available do not differ from the older versions. More specifically, we expect the following options silver, gold, rose gold and Space Grey. As for pricing, Apple is expected to classify it as an entry-level device with a cost of $400 - $500.

Although the rumors disagree on many things like the features and design of the new 4-inch iPhone device, they all agree that the device is expected to be released in 2016. At the event that Apple seems to be planning towards the media on March 21, we expect the iPhone SE to be announced as well.
