If you can't spare a single hand to answer an incoming call on your iPhone, you can set your device to play all calls on speakerphone.
The default setting on iPhone for incoming calls is to play them through the built-in earpiece. Of course, this is no novelty: this is exactly how all phone devices work.
But if you have iPhoneyou have an alternative. You may need to use it if you receive a lot of calls or if your daily activities require both hands and you are unable to hold the phone to your ear.
A pair of headphones or even a Bluetooth earpiece are excellent solutions, but if you don't have the equipment, you can always set your iPhone to automatically play incoming calls through the speakerphone. That way you won't have to manually activate it every time you receive a call.
How to set Open Listening mode as the default for calls on iPhone
On your iPhone, open the app Settings and go to the option General > Accessibility.
In the section Interaction, select Call audio routing.
You can then change the default routing from automatic to automatic. in Speaker. So when you exit the app, any incoming call will be played through the speaker.
If, during the conversation, you want to talk more privately, you can always turn off the speakerphone for the current call by tapping its icon.
You should also be aware that:
This setting also affects calls you make via FaceTime Audio.
The setting does not offer you any protection of the conversation as anyone close to you will be able to hear you.
It can be a temporary solution, in case the handset of the device needs repair.
