The new iPhone 13 series doesn't look much different from the previous generation since, like the iPhone 13 Pro, most of the changes are inside the phones. A noticeable difference in appearance is the dual camera system on the back of the device with the cameras arranged this time diagonally and the ultra-wide angle lens now supports f/1.6 and OIS for even better photos. Another difference is the notch on the front of the device which is smaller, takes up less space on the screen surface and features a redesigned True Depth Camera as well as the Face ID sensor.
iPhone 13 mini and 13 maintain the same 5.4 and 5.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display size with optimised black contrast and 28% increase in maximum external brightness to 800 nits and up to 1200 nits in HDR content such as video or photos.

The iPhone 13 and 13 minis, like the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, feature Apple's new fastest A15 Bionic processor, which the company claims is the fastest processor ever put in a smartphone, with 50% better performance than competitors. The new A15 Bionic chipset incorporates a new faster Neural Engine image processor further enhancing the photographic capabilities of the iPhone 13. New Photographic Styles capabilities allow users to edit multiple points of an image in real-time. A noticeable improvement over previous models is also in night mode with better performance in night shots and in difficult conditions.

The new A15 Bionic chipset also offers improved power efficiency using 5-nanometer technology and has around 15 billion transistors to be able to handle even the most demanding tasks. The Neural Engine image processor is capable of processing 15.8 trillion activities per second and gives iPhones the ability to use new machine learning functions through 3rd party applications.
