Within the past week, Apple launched an update to iOS 12, iOS 12.1.1 for iPhone and iPad.

This update of the operating system of Apple's mobile devices, brought a number of fixes and new features, such as the ability for users to instantly switch between the camera they are using (the selfie camera or the back camera) during a FaceTime video call, just by pressing a button.

Apart from the goodies, however, the update also caused operational problems for many users, who rushed to upgrade. Thus, according to a report in the online edition of Forbes, several iPhone users complained that they could not, after the update was completed, connect to their provider to use their mobile data.

This connectivity issue seems to have been experienced by iPhone users in various countries around the world and this particular bug can affect different units in different ways.

For example, some users have claimed that they can connect to their provider's 4G LTE network to use Safari, but can't open other apps! Another user said they can't leverage an LTE connection to use Twitter or Amazon, but can connect to their network when using all Google apps and WhatsApp. Others report that they can't connect to their provider at all and have to search for a Wi-Fi network to use the phone.

Some iPhone owners reported that they tried to fix the problem by updating carrier settings and rebooting, but this action also failed. At this point, however, it's worth noting that Apple was reportedly already aware of this problem, which was reported by beta testers of iOS 12.1.1 before it was officially made available to the public!

Based on the above, if you have not yet updated your iPhone's operating system, you can wait a while until Apple proceeds with the fix. Unless you don't use mobile data at all for Internet connection and find your edge via WiFi!
