iOS Tip: How to jump to the top of a website, Facebook and iPhone apps

There are many times when we are in an application such as Facebook or a website in Safari and after reading what we are interested in, we want to return to the top of the page to see the "menu". In Facebook, let's say we want to get to the top to "refresh" so that our home page is updated.

But if 5 minutes have passed since you've been going down and down, the return can seem quite tiring. But on iOS we have a way to get back with just one swipe to the top of the page. All it takes is just a tap on the iPhone's status bar. The status bar is that horizontal bar that displays the time, signal, Wi-Fi (if we're connected), battery and more at the top of the iPhone screen.

So if we want to return to the top of the page, we simply touch any point on the status bar.

iPhone X

Although the iPhone X has the special notch, it doesn't change anything since we can also do a simple tap either under the notch or on the two corners of the screen to the right and left of it.

Here we may need one more move. When we are on a page and reading its contents, the Safari bar containing the address of the page we are on is hidden. Tapping on the status bar once reveals the bar. By tapping again, we are automatically at the top of the page we are navigating. In other words, all it takes is one more touch.
