"Find My iPhone" proves to be a lifesaver for a young girl who was kidnapped.

We have talked several times about the operation "Finding my iPhone" (Find My iPhone) that allows us to find our iPhone if we have forgotten, lost or stolen it. "Find My iPhone" uses nearby networks - wireless or even telephone - to give a fix on the last location of the device.

And while there have been occasional stories about the "successes" of this feature, where someone lost or had their device stolen and thanks to the "Find My iPhone" was able to track it down again, the following story is certainly different and, even more certainly, is probably a world first.

So in this incident, as reported by NBC News, a mother from Pennsylvania, USA, used her location tracking software Apple to locate her kidnapped daughter who had been abducted and taken over 240 miles away.

In a statement released by the Pennsylvania State Police, "the mother said she was receiving text messages from her daughter asking for help. The mother was able to pinpoint her daughter's location by activating the iCloud and the Find My iPhone app".

As it turned out, the victim had been abducted by an ex-boyfriend who, it was later discovered, had forcibly grabbed her, gagged her with tape and also taped her hands. After that, the kidnapper threw her into the trunk of his car and took her away from where she was staying.

Luckily for her, the ex-boyfriend was dumb enough to forget to take her iPhone. The girl somehow managed to free herself in her "prison" and immediately started texting her mother asking for help.

The continuation was predictable. The mother located her daughter through "Find My iPhone" and notified the State Police. The "ex" was arrested a short time later and taken to the station for "further" action. He has already been charged with kidnapping and has been issued a fine of 150.000$.

As for the mother and daughter, after their adventure, I see them becoming fanatical supporters of the Apple.
