According to reports from sources in South Korea, information is coming in suggesting that Apple is considering developing a laptop with a foldable screen. The company appears to be in negotiations with potential suppliers with a view to launching a MacBook with a foldable display. Such a device from Apple would revolutionize the display market, if implemented.

According to reports, the device is expected to be released in 2026, following its unveiling in 2025. Korean display manufacturers, such as Samsung Display and LG Display, have invested heavily in OLED panels for laptops as the smartphone market has reached saturation. Both companies are "cooperating to develop and produce foldable OLED panels for laptops" as demand is growing.

According to the source, it is certain that larger displays will be a more profitable business for panel manufacturers, although achieving high pixel density is more difficult as the dimensions increase. An order from Apple for large displays would represent a significant opportunity for display manufacturers to gain additional economic benefits in the near future.
