According to reports from Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is considering working with Google to integrate the Gemini AI tool into the iPhone via iOS 18.

It is stressed that this information comes from sources with expertise in the field. Gurman reports that there are active negotiations between the two companies, with the aim of Apple licensing Google's language models to enhance some new features that will be added to iOS 18.
However, according to the same sources, the details or terms of the agreement between the two companies have not yet been finalised. iOS 18 is expected to include many AI features on the iPhone, making it perhaps the most significant update in the history of the platform.

According to Gurman, Apple is focusing primarily on features that can operate autonomously, without the need for an internet connection. However, for functions that require the cloud, such as creating images or writing essays through specific prompts, Apple is looking for a partner that has the necessary computing resources.
Therefore, the company turns to Google, with whom it already has a close cooperation in the search engine sector. It is worth noting that Google has paid Apple substantial sums of money to keep its search engine as the default search engine in Safari on its devices.
