Pretty much everyone pretty much knows what Netflix is. It is a famous subscription service for viewing television material, which has a global appeal, with extensions now also in our country. All you need to view the platform's content is an internet connection.

For almost a year and a half now, Netflix has started to "embrace" Greek subscribers, since it has been providing more and more series, movies, etc. with Greek subtitles. Let's not forget that a large percentage of the Greek audience has turned to Netflix, which is impressive considering the total population of the country.

It is already estimated that more than 70% of the service's total programmes contain Greek subtitles.

Globally, the number of Netflix subscribers is somewhere around 110 million.

But what is the important change?

The important change that came a few days ago, is that now the application starts to support the Greek language.

This means that users can enjoy navigating the menu in Greek, while the content, summaries and titles of some programs are now in Greek.

It should be pointed out that Netflix was buying the rights to the content it was broadcasting. In 2011, it made its big bang as a movie and series creator with the excellent House of Cards, which debuted in 2013.

Yana Zampa, Netflix's communications manager, in a statement today, said she was excited about the service's "official" presence in Greece, noting the importance given to Greece. She went on to say that the move marks a significant investment.

A key detail to mention is the fact that we will also see dubbed content in Greek, starting with the content for children.

He also revealed that we may soon see Netflix as a channel on a pay-TV supporting company, photographing Cosmote, Vodafone and Wind, which will open its own wings in the pay-TV space next February (2018).

What is also worth mentioning is the "flexibility" that Netflix provides. Users can, if they wish, download their favourite content so that they can enjoy it offline, of course, through their device. This is an excellent "feature" given that Netflix has its own app for almost every device and platform such as iOS, Android, Windows, Smart TV's, gaming consoles and in general for every mobile and "smart device".

This year alone, Netflix spent $6 billion to produce its own material, but also to buy the rights to various producers. In 2018, the $6 billion will increase by almost $2 billion, touching an astronomical $8 billion.

Finally, we should remind you that the monthly subscription starts at 7,99€ and varies depending on the package the user chooses.

Closing

Although the translation of the menu and some of Netflix's content is still in its initial stage, it seems that the famous platform is seriously considering the Greek market. We expect to see several new series, which, combined with Netflix's "Greek" support, will manage to upgrade the country's TV standard.
