With the launch of the new iPhone 6s<\/strong> and iPhone 6s Plus<\/strong>, Apple also announced an exciting new feature of the devices' camera, which goes by the name of \"Live Photos.<\/strong> So what exactly is this download and how can you use it? In this post we aim to go in-depth into the new feature, which allows you to relive the moment before and after taking a photo, with animation and sound.<\/p>\n

What is the \"Live Photos\" feature<\/h3>\n

By default the new devices iPhone 6s<\/strong> and iPhone 6s Plus<\/strong>, come with the new function enabled \"Live Photos\"<\/strong> in the pre-installed Camera application. However, if you do not wish to use it, you have the option to turn it off by touching the concentric circles icon.<\/p>\n

With the function \"Live Photos\"<\/strong> enabled, every time you touch the iconic capture button to capture a photo, your device will not only take a still photo of the 12 MP,<\/strong> but also a video 1,5 second duration<\/strong>, before and after taking. To play the video<\/strong> captured, press and hold the thumbnail (new 3D Touch feature). You will watch the video with picture and sound. As you browse the photo albums on your device, those that are \"Live,<\/strong> you will notice a momentary movement, in order to realize that it is \"Live Photos.<\/strong> If you want, you can set a photo of this kind as a live wallpaper on your lock screen, and view them on your other Apple devices.<\/p>\n

How the \"Live Photos\" feature works<\/h3>\n

The first thing we wondered when we heard the announcement of the \"Live Photos\" feature is the following:<\/p>\n

How is it possible to shoot video before and after taking a photo without holding down the virtual shutter release button?<\/p>\n

In fact the answer is remarkable. When opening the application with the camera turned on with the camera in the \"Live Photos,<\/strong> registration starts and registration video.<\/strong> This way when you press the download button, already the device has recorded 1,5 second<\/strong> that preceded and will store and 1.5 second recording<\/strong> after taking. All other registration that has taken place is rejected. If you continue to keep the camera app open, then your device will continue to capture video temporarily until the next capture.<\/p>\n

Why not just download video?<\/h3>\n

You may be wondering why this whole process is considered more attractive than just recording a video from your camera iPhone<\/strong> your? It just ... doesn't work. The ability to isolate audio in a future upgrade would be a welcome development.<\/p>\n

There is no way (so far) to edit live photos. You have a large collection of tools to edit still photos, but no tool for editing still photos. live photos.<\/strong> Not even the basics, (brightness, contrast, etc.). We like to think that they will be added by the Apple<\/strong> in the near future.<\/p>\n

As a final conclusion, we could say that this is mainly a sensationalist feature, although many users are willing to try the new feature.
